CHALLENGE
HOW MIGHT I create a visual theme that evokes a feeling of "Spring and Warmth" to excite the audience for the upcoming spring symposium.
SOLUTION
I highlighted several architectural elements where the Symposium is held annually, which enhanced the feeling of "connection" to the University audience.
I challenged myself to create a concept that would visually connect 300+ projects, students, faculty, and staff across all disciplines and backgrounds of the University.
R&D PROCESS
I approached creating this concept with generating a visual worthy of a "keepsake".
To achieve this connection with the audience I considered the time devoted to the yearlong projects by students, faculty, and staff across the campus.

INTERNALIZE & Research
- I learned more about the annual Spring Research Symposium and campaign designs from the previous five years to avoid similar aesthetics.
- I scouted the Symposium location and documented various elements for inspiration within the building that the audience and participants would likely encounter.
identify
Highly noticeable Architectural Elements based on most common route from outside to inside of Symposium location:
- Exterior: Ingalls Mall Fountain in front of The Michigan League Building
- Interior: The large stained glass window on the main stair landing depicting maidens representing Science, Inspiration, and Art.
